Sawtooth National Recreation Area

Nature trails in the forest include the Fishhook Creek Nature Trail, adjacent to Redfish Lake Visitor Center, and the Wood River Adventure Trail, bordering the Wood River Campground.

The Stanley Ranger Station is open Mon.-Fri. 8:30-4:30. A visitor center on the northern shore of Redfish Lake, 5 miles south of Stanley on SR 75, is open daily 10-5, mid-June to mid-Sept. The North Fork visitor center and national recreation area headquarters is open Mon.-Fri. 8:30-5 (also Sat., Memorial Day-late Dec.).

A free audio tour explaining the area's history and features can be borrowed at the Sawtooth National Recreation Area headquarters, Stanley Ranger Station or the Ketchum Ranger District.
