Elk, Deer, Bear, Turkey, Hawks, Falcons, Buzzards and other critters are commonly encountered in the wilderness along the way! In 2001 The Great Smoky Mtns. National Park in conjunction with The Eastern Band Cherokee Nation reintroduced the Elk into the National Park. Learn of their reintroduction, life cycles, struggles, and promising future here in the Smokies. Your guide will share Cherokee & early Appalachian history, legends & lore.
