My stay at Wyndham Sacremento was deplorable. The night we arrived, the first room we were booked in was filthy and smelled so bad. The lights were flickering on and off and even the elevator was dark with filthy worn carpet and just unpleasant. I called the clerk and told him the room was unacceptable, to please find us another room, even the sheets under the covers were stained! The clerk found another room on the same floor that did not smell and at first glance appeared better. The entry way light blew out as soon as we turned it on, so I went to the end table to turn on the lamp and noticed the curtains in the living area were filthy. At this point, it's almost midnight so I go into the bedroom to try and get settled. I lysoled the bed, etc, and saw ants crawling across the TV, on the desk and on the wall by the AC unit. Again I called the clerk to report the ants and ask if someone can help. They sent someone to spray and apologized for the issues. I took a shower (in the dark) and went to sleep. The next morning I got up, and with the sun shining I could see something was off with the sheer curtain that covered the blackout curtain. I pulled the blackout curtain to the side and to my horror, the sheer curtain had dried blood stains on it. I gasped, washed my hands and called the front desk. I told the young lady that answered about the curtains and the return of the ants. She apologized and said she would let housekeeping know. I put on some close and made my way downstairs to speak with a supervisor. While standing in the lobby, two roaches were crawling on the floor not far from my feet, which I killed and said to the clerk, I just killed two roaches by my feet in your lobby, really? Shevapologized again and went to get her supervisor. The supervisor was very nice and tried to explain the issues based on clientele during covid that brought issues to their establishment. He said he would try to find another, newer Wyndham in the area. He found one for just under $800 which was supposed to be a discounted rate. Since we were spending most of the daytime out of the hotel, we stayed on the condition that they would replace the blood stained curtain, thoroughly clean our room including dusting and vacuuming and sterilization and do something about the ants. The supervisor agreed with the exception of replacing the curtain. He said they would remove the curtain but couldn't replace it because they didn't have spare curtains! I was shocked. I also told him about the false advertisement of complimentary breakfast and newspapers, but now realize they couldn't pay me to eat in their restaurant. I told the supervisor we should be compensated for a very stressful five days and five nights of fighting ants and all of the discomfort we experienced. Not a restful, comfortable stay at all.

The bedding was stained with what appeared to be blood. The King Bed had Standard pillows. There were no extra blankets. The small ottoman was stained and dirty. The curtains were broken: open and closed by pushing and pulling curtains, because the hand-held rod wasn't attached. Very disappointed and will never stay there again.
