The original portion of this hotel opened in 1926. The elegant brick facade is stunning in season with flowering pots decorating the windows and gardens. Rooms feature an upscale progressive design. Classic Georgian and Queen Anne furnishings complement the era the hotel was built and create a graceful ambiance throughout the hotel. All rooms feature pillowtop mattresses with Egyptian cotton bed linens and ornately-carved headboards. The hotel is centrally located near many shops and restaurants, and the on-site spa is one of the top rated in the city. Afternoon tea is available for an additional cost but is well worth the price as it includes delectable tea sandwiches, house-made-scones with preserves and petit fours. The rooftop bar is the highest in Newport with a stunning view of the historic city and harbor, especially at sunset.
