I made a reservation for 2 nights totalling$184.68 for both nights which includes fees and tax from Sept 22 to Sept 24th. When I checked in, the friemdly helpful frontdesk person informed me that I would be charged for half of the total, since the other was already charged. I didn't pay attention to it. That night I came back around 4am, and I couldn't find my card key. The lobby was closed. I rang the bell and someone told me to come back at 8am when they are opened. I ended up falling asleep in my car before 8am and woke up before noon, ended up being late to my appointment and came back later that day and got the key. When I did, I made a point that I wasn't able to use the room to sleep, and asked to get a discount. Another helpful frontdesk person told he he would ask and gave me extra card keys. I needed to stay another night, so I made another reservation to extend from the 24th to the 25 that morning before checkout (24th). I heard a knock around 130pm and this other guy informed me that I need to pay for the extra stay. He had an attitude, a bad one. I told him that I paid/extended, but he insisted that I didn't. Come to find out, from his explanation, I needed to check in and pay at the front desk. My misunderstanding...I explained that the first time I came in, half was already paid so I thought it was paid this time. He kept saying "there is no way, we don't take prepayments". It was the tone of his voice, as if I am trying to trick him. So I explained how I only ended up paying for half of the $183.68 the first night. He wouldn't believe me, and mind you, I wasn't telling him I wasn't going to pay. I was explaining why I thought it was paid for the 3rd night. So I made a bet, that if he checks I paid for half and the other half was already paid when I came in the first night. He shook my hand, still telling me I"m wrong, and htere's no way, he worked here long yada yada. 100 dollar bet was made, and I was to meet him at the front desk in 15. I won't go into too much detail. He wouldn't honor the bet. Althought I made it clear I am going to pay for the 3rd night, but the bet should be honored, mentioning how the bet is personal and the charge for the 3rd night is buiness. This lead to him claiming I was threateniing him and to come outside! So I go outside, and he then claims I was the one telling him to come outside. Words kept being twisted around, one point he called me crazy, then made reference to where I came from (I'm an Asian American ) to lack knowledge of how things run here. BTW there are more details of how he was going to make me leave, that he had no record of my ID, so he coulnd't book me for the 3rd night (I thought I lost my wallet so couldn't give him the ID..) I have a recording of most of this, and they have a security camera also. Dumbfounded and quite upset, I asked for the manager. He ends up coming later and brushes me off, and tells me that they will review and let me know. As of the 3rd night aftewards, I havne't head anything from them and found out I was overcharged around 7 dollars per night (first two nights). I went back to clear this up, I was told by the same rude front desk to resolve it with the app I used to make the reservatoins. I left. Also would like to add. There was a witness, another customer. He came to me later and was sympathetic, mentioning how this place are not too customer frienly. But make sure if this happens to you, you don't converse like this with others, because the manager will threaten to kick you out if you do (that happened also when I was talking to one of the freiendly guys from the firstr two days).

The best things about this hotel were the unbelievably great price ($80/nt) during the OC Fair & the Beck with Phoenix concert at the Pacific Amphitheater and that it's a short walk to both. The staff were very helpful. There's a bar next door where friendly locals hang out and a Mexican restaurant next to that. The sheets were clean, there was a fridge & microwave. It didn't give me lice or bedbugs, so just a good place to sleep. The pool was empty & closed, but didn't you really come to the OC for its amazing beaches?
