La Quinta Inn Ste Historic Area

Hotel was very dirty, staff was not accommodating at all and pool looked like a swamp not good enough for any living being! Grounds were in extremely poor condition. I plan on letting AAA know of this very poor hotel and service. Do not stay here! I also unfortunately left a bag behind which I am in fault but had to call corporate to get me to someone to help me get bag back because when I called hotel no one would help or go look to see if bag was there! Thanks to corporate I did receive my bag back but after numerous calls and complaints. I have attach pictures of some of the problems Beware!

While all of the amenities(except one)were available as advertised, nothing really stood out. The room did not have a hair dryer, and when one was requested, it was never delivered. Generally speaking the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, there were more than enough towels, the TV was easy to operate, and the free breakfast was more than adequate.

Immediately upon entering the hotel, you'll be overwhelmed by the smell of stale cigarettes in the hallway. The room smelled like someone tried to sterilize a crime scene with pool water (stung the eyes and nose upon entry, yet nothing was clean) and everything was just soggy-- the carpets, towels, etc. despite the AC being on. The comforters had cigarette burns in it (far cry from no smoking hotel). The remote control was greasy and stained like someone ate cheetos and "cable" (antenna selections) were limited. Stayed on 88.2 frequency for fear of losing access to the weather Channel because cable and wifi were so finicky. Pillows were stained and discolored. Didn't trust sleeping under the covers. Hung my clothes out while unpacking, ripped my good shirt because the staples from the chair are punching through the fabric. Thankfully, it was only one night. Chose this place based on positive ratings through AAA and will not be sorting by AAA ratings ever again.

There was no Housekeeping Service. We had to carry our trash out, we had to put our dirty towels out ( place outside the room for pick-up). If we wanted clean towels, we had to pick up at front desk. The bathroom had mold growing in it. The bathroom did not always flush. The front desk did not have any information about the Town of Williamsburg: like best places to eat, where to see best fireworks on 4th of July. Breakfast was just mediocre. No one really spoke English or it was very limited. It seemed like a lot of the hotel residents worked there; maybe for room and board........VERY DISAPPOINTED...would not recommend. They should have paid us for staying there.
