Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine

Let me start by saying I love animals. That being said, people traveling with their pets and calling them service animals make it difficult for people with legitimate service animals. Most hotels will keep pets on the first few floors. This one had dogs on higher floors. These were not service animals. I was on the 12th floor and a dog was barking non-stop after 11 PM. I called the front desk, it continued to happen. I had to call back. My husband and I both have allergies. I don't feel confident that booking a room on a higher floor would ensure that animals hadn't been in the room or being on a floor with an irresponsible pet owner. There was another dog on the 15th floor and this same dog was on the patio furniture in the common space by the firepits.

Very nice hotel, but was surprised by an additional $35 per night for self parking.

Hotel was nice, but noisy at night. The walls are very thin and I could hear things from the next room all night. The mattresses are very soft. Staff was friendly, everything was clean. There isn't anything within walking distance, so you'll need to drive.

This hotel is extremely overpriced for the accommodations. Room service is almost nonexistent. I was informed by staff that room service was available until 10 PM. It was shortly after 9 PM when I attempted to order and I was informed that room service was no longer available that they had stopped taking orders at 8:45 PM. I had to extend my stay due to, a medical emergency for my daughter, and I had to pack up my room and move into a different room which was a down graded room and was even more expensive. When I ordered room service for breakfast, it was delivered to my door in a bag, in plastic containers, and my coffee was in a Starbucks cup. I had to choose whether the desk was going to be either my table or my workspace. This experience reminded me of hotel service during the middle of the pandemic. I am extremely disappointed with my stay considering this hotels brand name. Never again.
