AAA Diamond Inspector Notes
This hotel's blue dome atrium and massive three-tower structure has been a downtown landmark for decades. Pay close attention to the room type as sizes can vary drastically from tower to tower. However, each room provides a comfortable night's sleep and an impressive view of the cityscape. In addition to an updated design, it also features a sprawling meeting and convention space. Smoke free premises. 1260 units, some two bedrooms. 22-24 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

During our recent stay at Hyatt Regency Atlanta, we encountered some issues with the patio door in our room, which significantly impacted our experience. The door seemed to be jammed or stuck, making it impossible to open it despite our numerous attempts. We contacted the maintenance team for assistance, hoping for a prompt resolution to the problem. However, the response we received was rather concerning. The maintenance personnel arrived and unable to correct the problem suggested forcefully opening the door by applying pressure with one hand on the lock side and the other hand on the hinge side. This advice seemed both impractical and unsafe, especially considering the potential hazards associated with applying force to a stuck door. Moreover, the maintenance staff member made an inappropriate and dismissive comment by implying that my husband, being stronger, should be the one to handle the task of opening the door. This not only disregarded the safety concerns but also exhibited a lack of professionalism and sensitivity towards our situation. As guests, we were disappointed by the inadequate assistance provided by the maintenance team in addressing a safety issue. The inability to access the patio due to the malfunctioning door considerably affected our stay and left us feeling quite unsettled about the overall safety standards at the hotel. This particular incident significantly detracted from our experience. We hope that the hotel takes this feedback seriously and implements measures to ensure the safety and prompt resolution of such issues for future guests.
Thank you for your review.
Service- Great (we were able to check in before the posted time of 4pm and the process was easy and unproblematic. The front desk staff was professional and polite. I was able to pay for my stay in cash. Amenities- Great (the bath products are apothecary style and we’re presented well, plenty of fresh towels, iron, ironing board, coffee, coffee maker, in-room safe deposit box, large flat screen tv) Room- Great (bed was comfortable, sheets were clean, pillows soft, a/c and heat worked) Fees- Poor (valet and self parking are overpriced, not sure if tips are built into that but they should be, if you drink water in your room there is signage you will be billed $4 per water but those should be complimentary, breakfast is separate and it’s just plain breakfast stuff not anything outstanding so that’s not good, either).
