My recent stay was everything I expected from Hampton Inn
Everything was good. Except paying for parking. Parking should be allready included with your stay but most hotels have jumped on that money train
It was great and clean. Worth with price
So bad that I ended up paying for the night and leaving two hours after check in and paying for another hotel! Room was old and dated, bed was lumpy and extremely uncomfortable. People in adjoining room were screaming and swearing at their kids and could hear it all clearly, walls were so thin. Toilet didn’t flush after regular bathroom use, no clog. Would’ve toughed that all out until I spent the longest full 5 min stuck on the elevator going no where because it doesn't even work properly, My adult son almost had a full on panic attack! All this and there’s no air conditioning in the hotels lobby or hallway areas and barely any in elevator. After being stuck on first floor, trying to get elevator to descend to parking garage I storm to front desk and I am angry. First I ask if the elevator even goes to the garage and tell them it’s not working and I tell them I don’t even think I’m going to stay ask if I can get a refund as we’ve only been there maybe 15-30 min at this point. The man says, NO. With a screw you I could care less what your problem is! Then I go back to elevator and am still stuck and there’s other people coming and going up but WE, including other guests trying to help me, can’t get the elevator to descend down! So I storm back to front desk and I am mad and say to the guy., in an angry tone, This is ridiculous! I want to checkout and if I can’t, then at least help me get down to the dam parking garage! Can you come over here and help me? They didn’t even try! Not once did they acknowledge me or address my clear, justifiable frustrations. The guy says...” Mam..I’m not comfortable talking to you like this” doesn’t even look me in the face, turns and makes a phone call. Now, I am a retail manager and have myself been through de-escalation training (which this man and all front desk staff here desperately need) so I recognize in this moment I need to calm down and be respectful which I do after I walk away. After sitting in the room for another 15 min or so, my two adult children and I begin to imagine, God forbid, this hotel has to evacuate for some reason and being stuck with one completely not working/running elevator and one not working properly! Then we don’t even want to go anywhere because of how much time we’d waste if we can’t get to the garage again and we end up booking another hotel and leave .
