We returned to this hotel for the second time in two months. We like having a "pet free" hotel so there is no concern of barking dogs. Pool hours were compatible with my schedule. Pool was on the cold side but I still went for a short swim. It was nice to see both a Recycle Bin and a Trash bin in our room. Another plus: The microwave and fridge were not hidden behind a door. Room layout was good. Everything was clean as expected. Just one note: our room was on the side of the hotel facing the freeway, so light sleepers might notice some truck noise. You could request a room on the other side if you are a light sleeper.
The first two things I look for in a hotel are: Is it clean? Is it quiet? This Smyrna Georgia hotel met those important criteria. A big plus: this hotel is NOT pet friendly. I love our 4-legged critters, but I like knowing their barking will not be an issue during our stay. It was nice to have a pool, but the water was too cold for my preference, so I used the fitness center. (The whirlpool was out of commission.) One strange thing happened with our room. After returning from the fitness center, I noticed that the smoke detector on the ceiling was hanging by the wires - it was not flush with the ceiling. When my husband turned on the room heat, it set off the smoke detector. This was 11:00 p.m. We walked out into the hall, covering our ears. A front desk person came to our room immediately, and suggested that we change rooms. (When the room heat was turned back off, the smoke detector's wailing stopped.) The front desk person was kind and saavy, and suggested we could leave our belongings in the current room overnight while we moved to another room down the hall. Once settled into the new room, we had a nice quiet evening. The next morning at checkout, the front desk person apologized for our smoke detector problem and assured us that maintenance would repair it. He also offered us a room discount for our trouble, before I asked.
Location was great. Sheets were very scratchy and uncomfortable.
