Like the location. Some lobby remodeling going on when we stayed. The second floor bar being remodeled. Since not much real close, it will be good when the bar is done. Area for breakfast and dinner needs some serious remodeling. But, that might be taken care with the bar area too. Our A/C was inadequate. Had maintenance up and they simply lowered the temp even lower and told me it would be better. It wasn’t. No hot water the last morning. This place has real potential, so don’t give up on it. Just keep watching reviews as remodel happens. Had a good dinner about a four minute walk away at Cafe Rojo. Seemed like a fairly safe walk. Good rule in San Jose is not to flash fancy jewelry. But this night we didn’t ever have to worry. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. If they can get mechanical updated and bar completed, this will be a solid four star hotel. Currently, though it’s a three star.
