After being greeted by a warm and welcoming front desk worker, Manny, who guided me with instructions for a local walking tour and pointers for seeing the city, I found my room to be well-appointed, well-air-conditioned and comfortable. There are ample inviting public spaces and cafe bar + restaurant + bar were all staffed by creative, engaging and humorous staff. The food quality was an A+. I will look forward to returning to the Carpenter Hotel if my travels bring me back to Austin!
