Best Western Sheridan Center

The stay was pretty good. The bald guys at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The stopper in the bathroom sink didn’t work. The pool area and our room had a fly problem. The parking situation was a little bit of a mess; I brushed a ballard trying to get into a parking space and saw another guest cream his vehicle on a different ballard. Breakfast first day was good. Second day food was a bit cold; didn’t appear they lit the sterno early enough.. Clearly the building is a bit aged. We were just passing through and the hotel served our purposes.

The folks here were very nice, but the motel has seen better days. The carpet was old and stained. The fixtures were faded and loose. Generally, just a tacky, not sure it’s clean type of place.

I read the reviews before booking. There was nothing about the section where we stayed as having no elevator to get to the 2nd level where they put us- so being over 65- we had to lug our luggage up the stairs to our room- We went out to dinner and came back- the lights were out which made our room at the top of the stairwell feel very unsafe. We called the front desk and were told that they would have maintenance check it the next day as they had no one to check on it that night, so we had to deal with it. They told us the next day, that someone had unscrewed the bulbs- the fixtures should be changed so no one can do that in the future. We did ask for another room, as we booked 2 nights, but were told there were none available, the entire lower floor was being cleaned and empty, but they couldn't move us to a place that was easier for us. The coffee maker was broken, there was a fan in the bathroom that was constantly on and couldn't be shut off and a light bulb in the bathroom that was out. Maintenance man did come up the next day and fix what he could The morning 'free' breakfast was cold eggs, dry biscuit and cold potato chunks. The person that checked us in, said nothing about needing breakfast vouchers, she did put 2 of them in our key pouch, but I didn't look at them only pulled my key out to get into the room. The person mumbled half the info at check in- so I didn't ask. We did pay extra for the breakfast when we booked- but if you have a choice- don't- it isn't worth the extra $20 a night. At check in, I was told because we didn't book our room directly with them, I would have to give my credit card info in case of any incidentals. I felt that because we booked through a 3rd party that we were not valued.
