Best Western Plus Glen Allen Inn

It was my first trip with my little dog. The clerks answered my questions and were professional, courteous and kind during my visit.

Dirty. Elevator reeked of pot. Tub was dirty. There was toothpaste spit on the walls of the bathroom. No soap in the bathroom.

Although the employees we encountered at the front desk and for maid service were all polite and helpful, the standards were well below expected. It seemed there was no manager on site. Our heating unit was not able to be controlled in the room, and we became very ill during the night. In the morning we discovered the air filter in the unit was clogged with filth. The carpets at some places in the hotel - a stairwell comes to mind - were obviously not vacuumed recently; in our room the carpets around the perimeter of the room looked dusty. We chose a room with a kitchen but found it had not one utensil, dish or cooking pot/pan. It would have been good to have a heads-up that we needed to bring those things to a room with a "kitchen." The shower was great! But our towels/supplies were bare minimum for two people, and we made reservations and signed in for the three of us. We never had enough towels because even though we asked for more, they were so small and thin that it was hard to manage with what we got, especially because we needed some towels for the kitchen as well. My perception is that this hotel is not well managed for customer satisfaction and should not rate AAA 3 stars until improved. I want to re-iterate that the employees we encountered were responsive to our requests, but my sense was they have not been properly trained - a management issue.
