12 Night Panama Canal with Costa Rica & Caribbean Cruise

We loved seeing the new locks at the canal. Cartagena was a disappointment and we were unable to do kin Jamaica because of high winds. We had an extra sea day because of this. We have previously sailed on the Emerald Princess 3 times and were familiar with the ship. The staff was wonderful from every department. Food and entertainment were terrific! We had purchased a Plus Package but were charged daily for every beverage we drank, from coffee, soda, wine and cocktails, causing us to have to go to guest services to request that these charges were removed each day. Additionally, on our first sea day we checked our folio and saw a $360 charge for a Premium Package from the day of embarkation! This was removed from guest services. All of the charges we had removed were caused by the fact that our medallions were not scanned by crew members. They simply asked for cabin numbers. We have used medallions on other Princess ships and they worked beautifully. However, the system needs work on the Emerald!!!!!

Excellent cruise. Traveling from port to port was so smooth. We enjoyed everything about the ship. The entertainment on board was excellent. The food was also very good and we had plenty of choices.

We rediscovered that we are not cruise people. Our cruise came with a package that was tough to understand, even though it seems straightforward. We were unable to get much help from the AAA tour people and I had to call the cruise line myself to correct a problem. Overall the tour was fine but we will go back to land tours in the future.
