POINT OF INTEREST

Universal Orlando Resort

6000 Universal Blvd., Orlando, FL

Universal Orlando Resort™ combines three of Orlando’s top theme parks with dining and entertainment options, all in one convenient location. Heroes and villains from blockbuster movies and TV shows—Harry Potter,Transformers,The Simpsons, and Marvel to name a few—come alive at Universal Studios Florida™ and Universal’s Islands of Adventure™, and park-goers can cool off from the Florida heat at the third theme park: Universal’s Volcano Bay™ water park.

Home to some of the world’s most popular amusement parks, Universal Orlando Resort is teeming with visitors who often spend multiple days enjoying the park’s attractions. Choose single or multi-day ticket options that include admission to a single park per day, or a park-to-park ticket that allows for admission into both Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure. Upgrade your vacation with a Universal Express Pass, which offers skip-the-line access at major rides and attractions.

  • Universal Orlando Resort is a must-see for families with kids and thrill seekers.

  • Choose between single-day and multi-day tickets with access to one or both resort parks.

  • Bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the Florida sun.

  • Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk a significant amount.

  • Single and double strollers are available for rent at both park entrances.

The nearest airport to Universal Orlando Resort is Orlando International. The park is located off I-4, and the route to the main parking garage is well-signed. Guests can choose general, prime, or valet parking upon arrival.

As the Theme Park Capital of the World, Orlando’s attractions get very busy during summer and winter holidays, as well as spring break. To avoid the biggest crowds, visit later in the week between Labor Day and Thanksgiving, from late November to mid-December, or during the weeks leading up to school spring breaks. Universal Studios Florida is a better rainy day option, as most of the attractions are indoors.

Universal Orlando has multiple parks to choose from, making a multi-day ticket the ultimate experience. Park hop between Universal Islands of Adventure which offers several themed "islands" and major rides that nearly all come with height restrictions. Families with young kids will find more to do at Universal Studios Florida. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ is spread across these two parks, with Diagon Alley in Universal Studios Florida and Hogsmeade™ in Universal Islands of Adventure. And don't miss Krakatau™, the towering 200-foot (61-meter) volcano in Universal Volcano Bay.

Yes, you can buy a single-day parking ticket for one of the three parks at the ticket office. You can also choose between multi-park options for Universal Orlando Resort—a 3-park or 2-park pass, both of which are valid for 14 days and let you enter the parks multiple times each.

Because Universal Orlando Resort comprises three parks—Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Universal’s Volcano Bay water park—it’s recommended that you spend three days exploring the resort. Four or five days is ideal, as that allows you to relax between each park, as you’ll likely cover a lot of ground.

If you want to beat the crowds and spend less time waiting in line, visit Universal Orlando Resort between September and December (excluding the week of Thanksgiving). Another quieter period runs between January and May (except for the weeks of Spring Break).

The best day of the week to visit Universal Orlando Resort is Tuesday when crowds are said to be at a minimum. For even shorter waits, arrive at the park as early as possible and visit outside school holidays and national celebrations such as Thanksgiving or Labor Day.

Yes, you can bring food into Universal Orlando Resort—as long as it doesn’t need to be heated or refrigerated—think small, packaged snacks such as sandwiches, crisps, and cookies. You can also bring in bottled water (up to two liters per guest), but alcohol is prohibited.

Yes, you can bring a backpack into Universal Orlando Resort—but the bag and its contents must pass security checks at the park entrance before you can bring it inside. However, you can’t bring suitcases or bags with wheels into the park.
