The Stanley Hotel Tours
333 Wonderview Ave., Estes Park, CO, 80517
The Stanley Hotel Tours take place at the historic The Stanley Hotel, 333 Wonderview Ave. The palatial Georgian-style lodging, which opened in 1909, was built by F.O. Stanley who, with his brother, invented the Stanley Steamer horseless carriage. Guided day and night tours relate the history of the hotel, which is supposedly haunted by several ghosts, as well as the architecture. Author Stephen King’s stay at the hotel is said to be the inspiration for his novel “The Shining.” Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 15 minutes minimum.
