The National Civil Rights Museum is between Huling and G.E. Patterson aves. at 450 Mulberry St. Housed in two buildings, interpretive exhibits and audiovisual displays tell of the key events in the Civil Rights Movement from the early days of slavery to the present. Interactive exhibits, short films, recorded oral histories and artifacts evoke tensions and emotions prevalent during the period. Housed in the Lorraine Motel, where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, the museum features dramatic exhibits that immerse visitors in pivotal moments of the history of civil rights in America, from the first anti-slavery movements to the present day. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
