Singapore XD Theatre

The moving theater has 10 seats, each equipped with its own motion technology that can include up to 400 distinct movements per second, including left to right, up and down, front to back, twisting and pitching. Pair that with 3D glasses, state-of-the-art surround sound and wind effects, and the experience becomes incredibly immersive. Billed as a 6D motion ride, the resulting experience is akin to riding a roller coaster without actually getting tossed around. Visitors can choose from four different films, and at least one typically caters to families with younger kids.

The easiest way to get to the Singapore Flyer is to take the MRT to Promenade Station and take Exit A. A blue pedestrian bridge leads to the observation wheel, and the XD Theatre is on the second level.

Singapore XD Theatre is open Thursday to Tuesday in the afternoon and evenings. The 10-seat theater can fill up, so it’s a good idea to visit earlier in the day. Try it out before or after riding the Singapore Flyer.

Singapore Flyer is best known as Asia’s largest observation wheel, taking passengers on a journey 541 feet (165 meters) above Marina Bay. The retail terminal at the base of the wheel is also home to several other attractions. The Flight Experience invites passengers to take the controls of a commercial airliner in a realistic flight simulator. Whimsical Reality by Ah Guo is a kid-friendly art exhibit with some 30 original works. Visitors will also find a gift shop and several food options.
