Silver Dollar City
399 Silver Dollar City Parkway, Branson, MO
This family-centered amusement theme park, inspired by 19th-century life and mining in the Ozark Mountains, seems frozen in time. The massive complex just west of Branson, Missouri, has everything you expect from a vintage theme park (think steam trains and wooden roller coasters) and some surprises, such as Midwestern cooking classes, glass-blowing demonstrations, bluegrass concerts, and a seasonal water park.
Admission tickets are sold for one, two, or three days—you'll need at least that long to experience the park. These tickets reserve specific dates and grant access to most shows, rides, and cave tours. Add-ons include holiday events, food tastings, guaranteed seating for performances, skip-the-line ride privileges, and other extras. Dinner cruises on Table Rock Lake on the Showboat Branson Belle require separate reservations when booking your ticket.
Cameras, cell phones, and selfie sticks are permitted in the park but not on most rides and attractions.
Service animals are allowed in the park.
For a small fee, strollers are available to rent on a first-come basis.
Wheelchair and electric convenience vehicle rentals are available on a first-come basis.
Pick up a Rides Guidebook at Guest Relations for information on accessible rides.
Silver Dollar City lies about 9 miles (14 kilometers) west of Branson in southern Missouri. It's not far from the northern reaches of Table Rock Lake—driving is your best option in this region of the state. Take Blue Route/Roark Valley Road to Route 376 and turn left on Indian Point Road. There's plenty of free parking.
The park typically opens in mid-March and stays open through the December holiday season before closing for January and February. The water park is usually open from May to early September. With a full schedule of holiday shows and festivities, December is a great time to visit.
Silver Dollar City is known for its buzzy live stage shows, and you'll find everything from international festivals (giddyup with cowboys at the seasonal Harvest Festival) to bluegrass, gospel, and country music concerts. For the December holiday season, guests are treated to Broadway-style Christmas shows. Most shows are held daily.
