Royal Gorge Bridge and Park

Royal Gorge Bridge and Park is 8 mi. w. on US 50, then 4.3 mi. s. on CR 3A. The bridge is the highest suspension bridge in the United States. Built in 1929, the bridge spans the scenic Royal Gorge nearly 1,000 feet above the Arkansas River. The park offers more than 360 acres of scenery, history and rides, including the Royal Gorge Via Ferrata, the Royal Rush Skycoaster, an aerial tram across the canyon, a zipline, several children’s attractions, a theater, a carousel and scenic trails for walking and bicycling. The bridge, aerial tram and theater are open year-round; other attractions are available seasonally. Note: Park admission is charged before crossing the bridge. Vehicles are not permitted on the bridge outside of pre-arranged car clubs. Parking is free, and transportation across the bridge is provided May through Sept. Allow 3 hours, 30 minutes minimum during peak season. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
