Phantasea Tropical Botanical Garden

Located in the hills of St. Thomas, Phantasea Tropical Botanical Garden is a tropical plant-lovers paradise. It's home to more than 1,200 species, including more than 1,000 orchids, bromeliads, heliconias, gingers, palms, aroids, and succulents. The garden offers classes, workshops, retail and plant sales, and refreshments.
You can explore the 2-acre (0.8-hectare) Phantasea Tropical Botanical Garden on a self-guided tour. Follow its well-kept paths through the garden and stop at seating options, including a Balinese gazebo with views of flowers and filtered views of the bay. Resident parrots, tortoises, and peacocks entertain the kids. The garden offers guided tours for adults for a fee.
Visit the garden independently and combine it with a stop at the nearby Mountain Top or Tree Limin’ Extreme Zipline. Or opt for a tour that includes transfers for a hassle-free experience.
Phantasea Tropical Botanical Garden is a must for nature and plant lovers.
There is an entrance fee to the gardens, but USVI residents receive discounts, and children under 5 are admitted free.
A gift shop offers books, mugs, snacks, and cold beverages.

The garden is not wheelchair accessible, as there are many steps winding up and down the terraced garden.
The Phantasea Tropical Botanical Garden is located in Lerkenlund on St.Thomas. It’s easiest to take a taxi to the garden. It’s also possible to join a tour that includes transfers. Visitors driving from Charlotte Amalie, Havensight, or the East End should take Route 35 to 33 to 37 to 40 to 33 and look for directional signs. There is a parking lot on-site.
The garden’s normal operating hours are from morning to afternoon, Tuesday to Sunday. The garden is open Thursday to Sunday in the slow season (September to October or mid-November). Plan to spend around 45 minutes to an hour here, depending on your interest level. Flowers bloom with the seasons, so there's always something new to see.
Visitors with extra time should stop at nearby Mountain Top. Situated at the highest point of St. Thomas, Mountain Top offers panoramic views of Magens Bay and 15 islands, along with a duty-free shop and bar serving banana daiquiris. Or, combine sweeping views with an adrenaline rush at Tree Limin’ Extreme Zipline, also nearby.
