National Center for Civil and Human Rights

National Center for Civil and Human Rights is at 100 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd., near Centennial Olympic Park between the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola. Three floors host exhibits with interactive and hands-on technology to bring the stories of past and present to life, going beyond what you learned in textbooks about the Civil Rights Movement. Colorful, eye-catching art is also on display to further inspire visitors. The Morehouse College Martin Luther King, Jr. Collection of papers and artifacts reveals the life of the man through personal documents, writings and objects. Artifacts in this collection rotate multiple times per year. Rolls Down Like Water: The American Civil Rights Movement offers an interactive history lesson on the 1954-68 Civil Rights Movement. See, hear and feel what it was like during segregation, the student movement, the Freedom Rider experience, the March on Washington and the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Spark of Conviction: Global Human Rights Movement chronicles the continued struggle for civil and human rights around the world. Focused on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the gallery's displays take visitors through the paths of the offenders and defenders of human rights. Exhibits are updated regularly to remain current as events unfold around the globe. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
