Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park

Broome Road, Broome, Western Australia

From the moment you walk through the giant fiberglass replica of a crocodile's head, you know that Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park is wild about crocs. Located on the outskirts of Broome, this adventurous park is home to native saltwater crocodiles deemed too aggressive to remain in their Outback communities.

Though the park is only open for three hours daily, visitors are able to see handler-led feedings in the afternoon, when crocodiles the size of cars enjoy their daily meal. You’ll see several different crocodile species in the park, as well as American alligators, dingoes, cassowaries, wallabies, and hundreds of kangaroos.

Visitors to the park can choose between a basic admission ticket, a guided tour that includes round-trip transportation from hotels in Broome, or a full-day experience that combines a visit to the crocodile park with stops at 12 Mile Bird Park and The Mango Place.

*The crocodile park is a popular attraction with families.

*Bring some insect repellent, as the mosquitos and sand flies can be relentless.

*Don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes and to bring sun protection.

*Much of the park is accessible to strollers and wheelchairs.

Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park is located about 15 minutes outside of the city and is best reached by car or with a guided tour. The Broome Bus, which travels between Chinatown and Cable Beach, also stops at the park.

The crocodile park is open daily throughout the year (closed Christmas) from 2pm to 5pm. You can catch feeding times at 3pm daily.

This crocodile park gets its name from a notable Australian wildlife documentary filmmaker and crocodile hunter best known for his TV series, In the Bush with Malcolm Douglas. Douglas was a fierce advocate for the protection and preservation of crocodiles up until his tragic death in a car accident in 2010.
