The basics

Thrill-seekers can choose from a number of different admission tickets. Opt for day or evening entrance and purchase individual ride coupons; choose a ticket book to get access to selected rides and games; or invest in a Ride Pass which allows unlimited all-day access to all the rides. Brave a ride on the Valkyria, the longest dive coaster in Europe; ride the Balder wooden roller coaster; or reach speeds of up to 62 mph (100 kph) on the Helix coaster. Alternatively, cruise down the rapids, take in the views from the Liseberg Ferris Wheel, or visit the Haunted House.

Things to know before you go

  • Liseberg Amusement Park is also a popular destination for music fans—artists including The Rolling Stones, Sammy Davis Jr, and Snoop Dogg have performed at the Stora Scenen stage.
  • Admission tickets are required even if you don’t go on the rides; admission is free for children under 110cm.
  • There are rides suitable for all ages, including adults. Many rides have height or age restrictions.
  • The park has a variety of restaurants, cafés, and food kiosks to choose from.
  • The park is wheelchair- and stroller-accessible, although some rides may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.

How to get there

Liseberg amusement park is located in central Gothenburg, about a 20-minute walk from the downtown area—the main entrance is on Örgrytevägen. The closest bus and tram stops are Liseberg and Korsvägen, which stop right outside, while Liseberg train station is just a 2-minute walk away.

When to get there

Crowds descend on Liseberg in the summer months, when all the rides are open and regular events and music concerts are held in the evenings. The park also opens for Halloween and the holiday season, although most of the big rides are closed at this time.

Over the holiday season, Liseberg Amusement Park is transformed into a gigantic winter carnival and it’s the most atmospheric time of year to visit. Admire the glittering illuminations, shop for traditional handicrafts and gifts at the Christmas market, and warm up with festive foods and mulled wine. Kids can also visit Santa’s Workshop and explore the fairy-tale-themed Medieval Village, take a ride on the winter carousel, or watch classic tales like A Christmas Carol performed on ice.
