Set around a boat-filled harbor facing across the sapphire channel to Albania, this once sleepy fishing village is now a lively tourist getaway. As well as ample tavernas and bars, Kassiopi also has beautiful beaches, tranquil headland trails, and a ruined Byzantine castle perched on a hillside overlooking the village.
Most vacationers in Kassiopi come for sunshine and relaxation; spending days lounging in the sun at the nearby beaches of Kalamionas, Bataria, Avlaki, and Pipitos. Take boat trips along the spectacular Ionian coastline, anchoring at quiet coves; stroll among the olive tree-covered slopes to the crumbling walls of the old Kassiopi Castle; and visit the Church of Panayia Kassopitra, which was built on the ruins of an ancient temple. Some guided sightseeing tours and shore excursions from Corfu Town combine a visit to Kassiopi with other attractions on the north of the island, such as the Monastery Of Pantokrator and the Folklore Museum of Acharavi.

Kassiopi is situated on the northeast coast of Corfu, about a 40-minute drive from Corfu Town. Regular buses run between Kassiopi and Corfu Town.
The best months to visit Kassiopi are May, September, and October when temperatures are warm and there are fewer crowds. Winter temperatures are mild though the nearby waters can be chilly.
Like many Greek villages, Kassiopi has a history that stretches back more than 2,000 years. According to local tradition, Emperor Tiberius had a villa here; and Emperor Nero paid a visit to Kassiopi in the third century to see the village’s temple, which stood where the 16th-century church of Panayia Kassopitra now stands.
