Part of the Atlantis Submarine family, Grand Cayman Seaworld Observatory is a semisubmersible boat with a glass-enclosed viewing area that sits 5 feet (1.5 meters) below the waterline. It lets travelers experience the underwater world in air-conditioned comfort, without getting wet or having to dive to any depth.
Passengers board a boat and descend stairs to the underwater viewing cabin, where large glass windows allow for views of the coral, fish, marine life, and shipwrecks as it cruises around offshore. The Grand Cayman Seaworld Observatory passes over shallow reefs, two wrecks, the steel schooner Cali and the Balboa freighter, and also Cheeseburger Reef, where a diver puts on a show feeding the fish.
