Four Mile Beach is exactly that—4 glorious miles of unimpeded golden sands stretching into the distance. The long stretch of beach, backed by palm trees and with little development in sight, offers access to the calm waters of the Coral Sea, perfect for swimming. How to get there
Four Mile Beach is a 5-minute walk from central Port Douglas. The beach extends south from Flagstaff Hill in town, down to the Port Douglas Golf Course.
When to get there
The best time to visit the beach is between April and October, when weather tends to be sunny and dry. Temperatures are warm enough to swim throughout the year, though afternoon downpours are common in the summer months from November to April.
