Erie Maritime Museum and US Brig Niagara is at 150 E. Front St. just off Bayfront Pkwy. Regional maritime heritage with emphasis on the War of 1812 and the history of the USS Michigan/Wolverine is interpreted through interactive exhibits and multimedia presentations. In the Live Fire exhibit a section of a re-created wooden warship illustrates the rigors of fighting at sea. The Niagara, a re-creation of Oliver Hazard Perry's relief flagship, sails frequently and operates as a sailing school vessel in summer months. Guided tours are available when it is in port.
