Coors Field – Denver Attractions from Viator.com

2001 Blake St, Denver, Colorado

Denver’s Coors Field offers views of two types of Rockies: the state’s famous Rocky Mountains, naturally, and the Colorado Rockies, the Major League Baseball team. One of the league’s best stadiums, Coors Field fits more than 50,000 spectators for a rousing day at the ballpark, right in Denver's trendy LoDo (Lower Downtown) neighborhood.

One of the first baseball-only parks in the National League, Coors Field is an icon to baseball fans and Denverites. “Highest” may be the best way to describe this place: It’s the highest-elevation park in the MLB, with purple seats in the 20th row marking the elevation of exactly one mile, or 5,280 ft (1,609 m). The Rockies also have one of the highest attendance records—which explains the stadium’s 50,000-person capacity.

Most LoDo tours will include at least a peek at the stadium, which features fountains, a waterfall, and even an on-site brewery and restaurant.

  • Tours typically last 70–80 minutes and are available most days. Buy tickets in advance online.

  • In the ballpark, only soft-sided, single-pocket bags are permitted and there are size restrictions on larger bags.

  • The ballpark has 1,000 accessible and companion seats.

  • The options for food here are endless, from hot dogs to oysters to gluten-free fare.

  • Gates A and E open the earliest—two hours prior to game time.

The Coors Field parking lot has nearly 4,500 spaces (available for a fee), but thousands more parking spots are within walking distance of the ballpark. Otherwise, take the RTD Light Rail to Union Station—it’s about a 10-minute walk to the stadium. Cycling is another convenient option, with bike racks available at the park. Rideshares abound, too.

Games at Coors Field typically follow the Major League Baseball schedule, running from early April through late September or early October. On weekdays, games typically start around 6:40pm; on weekends, they usually begin around 1:10pm. If you’re coming for a game, try to arrive 45 minutes early—traffic and crowds can slow things down.

If you’re attending a Rockies game, plan for a day in LoDo, aka Lower Downtown. There are some 100 restaurants, clubs, galleries, shops, and more in this trendy area, plus the glorious Union Station and the string-lit Larimer Square. From simple exploration to food tours, you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to things to do in LoDo.
