Cisco Brewers
5 Bartlett Farm Rd., Nantucket, MA
Cisco Brewers is a Nantucket-born-and-bred brewery that’s produced artisan beers since 1995. In summer, the brewery offers a free shuttle service from Nantucket town and a lively outdoor tasting experience with beers, cocktails, food trucks from island restaurants, and music. You can also join a brewery tour to glimpse the brewery’s inner workings.
Pair a stop at Cisco Brewers with a Nantucket boat or biking tour or break up your beach time with a brewery tour and tasting. You can sample artisan and small-batch beers by the glass or flight. On summer weekends, the outdoor tasting space at the brewery is one of the biggest draws on the island and offers a range of food trucks, an oyster bar, a beer bar, a wine bar, and a cocktail bar, plus live music or DJ sets.
You must be of legal drinking age to buy and drink alcohol at Cisco Brewers, but there is plenty to eat and drink for kids. The atmosphere and music make it a fun family outing.
Brewery tours are offered on a first-come, first-served basis; sign up directly 30 minutes before the tour.
There is no reserved seating at the brewery and tables for eating and drinking are shared.
The tasting area is mostly outdoors around a flat, paved area that is easy to navigate with a stroller or wheelchair.
Cisco Brewers sits along a remote stretch of inland road 3 miles (5 kilometers) from downtown Nantucket. A free shuttle runs every 20 minutes between the town and the brewery from spring through fall, or you can take a taxi or rideshare service. It’s also a pleasant bike ride; there are bike rental shops in Nantucket town.
The brewery can get very crowded on summer weekends and holidays when there is often a long line to get served at the three bars and food stations. Visit during a weekday or in the quieter spring or fall seasons when the weather is mild enough to sit outside but there are fewer crowds.
Cisco Brewers is part of a larger trio of island producers including Nantucket Vineyard and Triple Eight Distillery, all based out of the same complex in Nantucket’s inland countryside. When you visit the brewery, you can also sample the group’s locally produced red and white wines plus craft cocktails made with single malt whisky, cranberry vodka, and rum. The distillery also offers a bespoke-label tequila produced in Mexico and premixed cocktails in a can.
