Callaway Gardens is located in Pine Mountain, Georgia, just about an hour's drive from the Atlanta area. The most convenient way to reach the property is to drive. From Atlanta, take I-75 North to Exit 306. The main entrance is off of Highway 27.
There's really no bad time to visit Callaway Gardens; outdoor attractions are open seven days a week and close at dusk. Seasonal highlights include the native azaleas, which bloom in the spring, the mountain laurels, which bloom through early summer, and the Japanese maple, which turns red and orange each fall. Weekends tend to be busy, so visit earlier in the week to avoid crowds.
If you’re near Callaway Gardens during the holidays, check out Fantasy In Lights, a Christmastime spectacle that runs from November through January. Enjoy over-the-top displays, a kid-friendly Christmas Village, and a forest draped in lights.
