POINT OF INTEREST

Brighton i360

Lower Kings Road, Brighton, East Sussex

The observation tower Brighton i360 offers a whole new perspective on Brighton and the south coast of England. In a futuristic glass viewing pod, you’ll glide gently up to 450 feet (138 meters) above ground for 360-degree views across the city, the South Downs and—on the clearest days—all the way to the Isle of Wight.

Most travelers visit Brighton i360's glass viewing pod independently, perhaps using the Brighton Explorer Pass, or it can be included as part of a private tour of Brighton. The pod is fully enclosed and spacious, with room for up to 175 visitors. You can stand at the edge of the pod and look out across the landscape, move around to take in the view from different angles, and purchase refreshments at the pod’s very own Sky Bar. An in-flight crew is on hand to point out landmarks and answer any questions, and a viewing map and multilingual app, filled with fun facts, can be downloaded before you board.

  • Brighton i360 is a must-do for all visitors to Brighton.

  • The pod is heated and air-conditioned to ensure year-round comfort.

  • Brighton i360 is fully accessible to wheelchair users.

  • The entire experience lasts 20 to 25 minutes.

  • All guests and their belongings must pass through security checks before entering the viewing pod.

Brighton i360 is located on the Brighton seafront, close to the West Pier and within easy walking distance of major hotels and attractions including the Lanes and Royal Pavilion. It’s a 15-minute downhill walk from Brighton Railway Station, and bus 77 stops right outside.

Brighton i360 is open seven days a week, from midmorning until night, and pod “flights” depart every 30 minutes. Visit during the day for sweeping sea views, at sunset to take in the changing light, or after dark to appreciate the city lights. If you’ve prebooked, try to arrive early: If you miss your flight time, you can get rebooked on a later one, but you’ll pay an additional fee.

At the end of each flight, the pod descends into the beach building at the base of the tower, where passengers disembark. The building has terraces opening straight out onto the promenade, where you can grab a bite to eat at the observation tower’s West Beach Bar & Kitchen and browse the store for gifts and souvenirs.
