In the cooler months the water features are closed and the blooms are dormant, although a winter walk or ride through the park is still enjoyable.

Most popular sights include the 126-foot (38-meter) totem pole that is a tribute to the indigenous people of Victoria, the Mile 0 marker of the Trans-Canada Highway, and the touching monument to young Canadian hero Terry Fox.
