Antalya Aquarium

Dumlupınar Blvd. 502, Konyaalti, TUR

Best known for housing the world’s largest underwater tunnel exhibit, Antalya Aquarium is a family destination on Turkey’s (officially the Republic of Türkiye) Mediterranean coast. In addition to its 430-foot (131-meter) by 10-foot (3-meter) tunnel and 40 themed tanks, the attraction center houses a tropical reptile house, 3D cinema, and a snow-themed museum.

City tour excursions departing from resorts along the coast often stop at the aquarium, which is located in Antalya’s Konyaalti neighborhood. You can easily explore the aquarium’s tanks and tunnel in an hour or so, leaving time to discover other on-site attractions such as the Oceanride XD Cinema, WildPark Reptile House, and Snow World & Ice Museum. Choose a combo deal or all-inclusive package that works for you.

Some guided tours continue on to Düden Waterfalls or Kaleiçi, Antalya’s medieval Old Town. Other options include bike tours or private packages that can be tailored to your personal needs.

  • Antalya Aquarium is stroller- and wheelchair-friendly.

  • The aquarium is particularly popular with young families; book skip-the-line tickets in advance to help you avoid any stress gaining entrance on the day of your visit.

  • If you’re interested in visiting the center’s other attractions, purchase a combo or all-inclusive ticket in advance to save money at the door.

  • Flash photography is not permitted inside the aquarium.

Antalya Aquarium is located north of the Mediterranean City Park (Akdeniz Kent Parki), a few minutes’ walk from Konyaalti Beach. The aquarium has two public parking lots, though you can avoid additional driving costs on a tour that includes round-trip transportation from your hotel or by taking public transit. The TK36 and VF02 buses both stop at 5M Migros Shopping Center, just behind the aquarium.

The aquarium is a great place to spend a rainy day, with plenty to see and do indoors. Arrive before midday to see the daily feedings and avoid afternoon crowds. The aquarium remains open well into the evening during high season, with daily underwater shows from April to November. Operating hours are slightly reduced during winter. Last admission is one hour before closing.

The aquarium is organized into themed sections, starting with the world’s oceans, seas, and rivers, then moving onto maritime stories such as Noah’s Great Flood and the Sunken City of Atlantis. You’ll likely spot coral reef, octopuses, and seahorses in the tunnel’s Tropical Tank, groups of sharks and rays in Shark Hall, or maybe even a mermaid or pirate in one the regular underwater shows.
