Al Fateh Grand Mosque

As the largest mosque in Bahrain, Al Fateh Grand Mosque can accommodate up to 7,000 Muslim worshippers at any one time. Named after the founder of Bahrain, the structure boasts the largest fiberglass dome in the world, and was built using marble from Italy, glass from Austria, and wood from India.
Thanks to its architectural significance, Al Fateh Grand Mosque is a stop on the majority of Bahrain sightseeing tours, which tend to cover other highlights such as the Bahrain National Museum, Arad Fort, Al Areen Wildlife Park, and the Bahrain International Circuit. Other day tours combine a visit to the mosque with the Beit Al-Qur’an Museum, the Burial Mounds, and Manama Souq.
Tours of the mosque are free and take place throughout the day, on a first-come, first-served basis. Guides speak both English and Arabic.
Both men and women should dress conservatively when visiting the mosque, and shorts are prohibited. Women will be given headscarves and black cloaks to wear.
As the mosque is an active place of worship, keep noise to a minimum.
If visiting the mosque using public transportation, take bus number 41 or 42 to the Al Fateh Grand Mosque stop. For extra convenience, you can opt for a day trip that includes round-trip transportation.
Al Fateh Grand Mosque is open from morning until mid-afternoon. It’s closed to non-worshippers on Fridays.
