Freedom Rides Museum

Freedom Rides Museum is at 210 S. Court St. at jct. Adams Ave., behind the courthouse. This museum is housed in the Greyhound bus station where 21 youths, all under age 22, arrived by bus May 20, 1961, to peacefully protest racial segregation on public transportation. Despite their nonviolent approach, they were met with violence. The museum showcases their bravery with photographs, artworks, quotes and exhibits. Guides are available to share information, but visitors may also tour the museum on their own. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
