Johnson-Shaw Stereoscopic Museum

Johnson-Shaw Stereoscopic Museum is downtown at 423 Chestnut St. Housed in an 1856 building, the museum features a collection of items showcasing Meadville company Keystone View, which was the country's largest manufacturer of stereoscopic views and was in operation 1892-1976. The collection includes equipment and stereoscopic photos, and the exhibits explain the technology's uses in leisure, education, military and optometric applications. Meadville history is featured with stereoscopic views from the turn of the 20th century-1940s as well as with ledger books from the Holland Land Co. that originally occupied the building. A research library also is available. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
