Trees of Mystery
15500 US 101N, Klamath, CA, 95548
Trees of Mystery is 4 mi. n. on US 101. A .8-mile, groomed interpretive trail leads through a magnificent redwood forest and showcases a number of oddly formed trees, some nearly 2,000 years old and 300 feet tall. A section of the trail called the Trail of Tall Tales features chainsaw-carved redwood sculptures depicting the legend of Paul Bunyan. The End of the Trail Museum displays crafts, beadwork and shell ornaments made by members of the Yurok, Karok and Tolowa tribes of northern California. The museum's six rooms also contain Kachina dolls, objects made from cedar wood and exhibits focusing on Native American history. The SkyTrail, a six-passenger gondola, transports visitors through the forest canopy. Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Food is available.
