Oconaluftee Indian Village, 2.5 mi. n. off US 441N at 218 Drama Rd., is a re-creation of a 1750s Cherokee community, where Native Americans demonstrate how to fashion baskets, pottery, canoes, arrows and blowguns. Also of interest are a preserved seven-sided council house as well as huts and cabins containing articles used more than 200 years ago. The Cherokee Botanical Trail is on the grounds. Special programs are available. Guided tours are available.
