Lake Crescent, in Olympic National Park, is 17 mi. w. of Port Angeles on US 101 to 416 Lake Crescent Rd. This deep freshwater lake was carved by glaciers. Surrounded by high mountains, including 4,534-foot Mt. Storm King, the lake is 12 miles long and 624 feet deep. Near the midpoint just off US 101 is the trailhead for the 1-mile Marymere Falls Trail, an easy hike through dense old-growth forest habitat that leads to 90-foot Marymere Falls.
