Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is 5 mi. n. on US 89 to 5001 Angel Canyon Rd., following signs. The sanctuary is the country's largest no-kill refuge for abused, abandoned and neglected animals. About 1,600 companion animals reside here. Van tours of the 3,700-acre facility include stops at Dogtown and Cat World. Specialty tours to see other animals like parrots and rabbits also are available. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
