NATIONAL PARKAllegheny National Forest Allegheny National Forest extends 40 miles south from the New York-Pennsylvania border through the counties of Warren, Forest, Elk and McKean. The only national forest in Pennsylvania, its approximately 517,000 acres include 500 miles of fishing streams, 272 miles of hiking and cross-country ski trails, 300 miles of snowmobile trails and 108 miles of trail-bike and ATV routes. Several scenic drives traverse the area; contact the forest for recommended routes.
NATIONAL PARKAntietam National Battlefield On SR 34/65 at Sharpsburg, Antietam National Battlefield is a more-than-3,000-acre site where the Battle of Antietam, as it was called by the Union, or the Battle of Sharpsburg, as it was referred to by the Confederacy, took place Sept. 17, 1862.
NATIONAL PARKArlington National Cemetery Directly across the Potomac River west of Washington, Arlington National Cemetery was established in 1864 on the confiscated estate of Robert E. Lee. It is an impressive sight, with seemingly endless rows of simple white headstones. Imposing stones and monuments mark the graves of many individuals and groups.
NATIONAL PARKBruce Peninsula National Park Along both sides of the Bruce Peninsula, the park encompasses 155 square kilometres (60 sq. mi.). Bruce Peninsula National Park preserves one of the last remaining wild areas in southwestern Ontario; it is the core of the Niagara Escarpment World Biosphere Reserve. The backbone of the park is a portion of the Niagara Escarpment, a 725-kilometre (451-mi.) ridge that extends from Queenston Heights on the Niagara River to Tobermory.

New York's only national forest was officially designated as such in October 1985. The forest comprises just 16,212 acres and is one of the country's smallest national forests.
NATIONAL PARKFort Mchenry National Monument And Historic Shrine To reach Fort McHenry from I-95, take exit 55 (Key Hwy./Fort McHenry Monument) and follow the brown signs on Key Highway to Lawrence Street. Turn south on Lawrence Street and then go east 1 mile on E. Fort Avenue. It also can be reached by the Charm Circulator bus (Banner Route), by local bus Route 1 and by shuttle boat service (in season) from Light St. in the Baltimore Inner Harbor.
