The presence of the Snake River guarantees a variety of recreational opportunities, including boating, camping, fishing and swimming. Hikers and bikers take advantage of the Clearwater and Snake River National Recreation Trail, a paved stretch that runs along 19 miles of river shoreline in the Clarkston-Lewiston area.

Kiwi Air offers scenic helicopter flights that show off the region's spectacular landscape of valleys, canyons, upland prairies and mountains. Flights depart from the Kiwi Air helipad on Port Drive (at 9th Street). For information and reservations phone (509) 751-9000.

Local tour companies offer 1- and 2-day jet boat excursions and 3- and 5-day river float trips through Hells Canyon. Reservation information is available from the Visit Lewis Clark Valley visitor center.
