Redlin sculpted the gallery and grounds to pay homage to the landscapes that inspired his much-loved images. These same landscapes also foster year-round camping, fishing and hunting pursuits, particularly on Lake Pelican and Lake Kampeska, which the Santee Sioux named for the shiny shells found along its shores.
The restored Goss Opera House , on the corner of Kemp Avenue and Maple Street, contains art galleries and exhibit space; for information phone (605) 878-4677.
