DESTINATION

Copper Harbor

Michigan's northernmost community is a popular summer vacation spot. Boat trips to Isle Royale National Park are available early May to early October. Lake Superior and the surrounding woodlands can be viewed along the 9.5-mile Brockway Mountain Drive, which runs west from Copper Harbor and rejoins SR 26 about 10 miles east of Eagle Harbor.

The Astor House Museum at US 41 and SR 26 contains antique dolls, Native American relics and local historic artifacts; phone (906) 289-4449. The Estivant Pines, a grove of 100-foot-tall white pines, some 500 years old, grow along the Montreal River.
