Few farms remain, as “the Cape” has become primarily a residential center for the Greater Portland area. The diverse coastal landscape includes sandy beaches, craggy cliffs and saltwater marshes and is accessible through two state parks as well as one town-owned park.
Two Lights State Park, 3 miles south on SR 77, features walking areas, scenic views from a rocky headland and picnic facilities. The park is next to Two Lights Lighthouse, which marks the entrance to Casco Bay. Crescent Beach State Park, 1 mile south on SR 77, offers recreational opportunities, picnic facilities and views of Richmond Island.
