Exhibits at Greene County Historical Society and Museum, 219 E. Lincolnway, depict city history. One of Jefferson's most distinguishable architectural features is the Greene County Courthouse, a Greek Revival structure featuring a domed rotunda with a stained glass ceiling.
The restored Milwaukee Railroad Depot serves as a trailhead of the Raccoon River Valley Trail, an 89-mile recreational multi-use trail running through woodlands and farmlands from Jefferson to Waukee.
A statue of 1972 Olympic archery champion Doreen Wilber stands at Vine and Lincolnway streets on US 30.
Jefferson is on the historic Lincoln Highway (US 30). Look for reproduction Burma Shave signs in the area.
