DESTINATION

Zionsville

En route to Washington, D.C., for his presidential inauguration in 1861, Abraham Lincoln addressed Zionsville's citizens from the platform of his train; the site of the former railroad station where this event took place is marked by a stone monument in Lincoln Park.

Zionsville has preserved a Victorian village atmosphere, most evident in the many examples of period architecture. Six blocks of brick Main Street are lined with trees, flowering planters, candlelit windows, historical markers and specialty shops.
