The 320-acre campus of Valparaiso University is entered from just west of the junction of US 30 and Sturdy Road (SR 130). The Brauer Museum of Art, across from the university's Chapel of the Resurrection, contains more than 3,000 works of American and religious art dating from the 19th century.
The annual Valparaiso Popcorn Festival, held downtown on the Saturday after Labor Day, celebrates city native Orville Redenbacher's popcorn. The event features a parade, a 5K walk, children's activities, live entertainment, and food and craft booths.
